much ado about nothing

1. I got really drunk last night – after putting in a 12 hour shift and mercifully missing the KVN game, I got on BART and rode into Concord. I have not eaten all day, but before I could get to the food, I decided to get a little drunk. I drank several beers with vodka and became severely intoxicated. I do not remember much, but I do remember doing pushups and shoving some important KVN guy out of my way. I remember stalking up to dear [info]dalona and no less dear [info]the_furman, who, incidentally, own two of the most exquisitely elegant cats in the entire state of California. I was saying some gibberish to them, but I have no recollection of what I was saying (I am so sorry if I said something offensive). I had to miss work this morning – I feel really sick. I am getting too old for this shite. Most embarrassing thing – I got so drunk that I failed to eat. At all. ¡Nunca jamás!

2. I failed to turn in my final papers on time, so I have to do it now. My brilliant professor sent me a reply, which said: Dear Paul,
Don't worry - just e-mail me your papers, and I'll take it from there. The grades have to be in on Wednesday, so get them to me by Tuesday. I quite enjoyed your paper on MacKinnon and Brown, by the way. best, IA.
He is the best. And that MacKinnon and Brown paper was on the philosophical delineation between the modernist v. postmodernist feminism. Or, at least, what in my opinion that difference is. I am so happy he liked it! Which reminds me, I became enamored with work of some University of Chicago scholars. I am beginning to be convinced that that school is particular can give one the best classical education in humanities, especially in philosophy. The writing style of the professors there is immensely intellectually dense and often not easily accessible. They are asking us to do work for work’s sake, sometimes, but that’s part of scholarship, I guess.

The absolute worst of all beer-vodka combinations out there is a deadly, tracherous and brain-killing Holsten-Smirnoff mix. While the Smirnoff component honestly traces its origin to Menlo Park CA, Holsten - a brand in decline even out here, and a rather shady product in the US -introduces a wildly unknown variable into the chemical composition of the poisonous mix.

I never new there could be so much vomit inside a 17yr old body. At dawn's break, I've opened my eyes and got the impression that an entire platoon of Moldovians were here the other night. Nope. It was me who polluted, like, half of the Panorama City total area.

Beware of Holsten.

"I drank several beers with vodka"

Re: never heard of him

quite a coincidence: i'm listening to him right now!... anyhow, i think here you may be able to listen to his stuff... he's witty and interesting and fun... i recommend the songs: чисто конкретно, эх яблочко, хали-гали, любовное чтиво, ночной свистун, романс о женшине...

you were still under the influence when you wrote that post.

at least it sounds that way because i am drunk right now. i did not mix vodka with beer, just drank lots of wine to celebrate the end of rita madness. back to work tomorrow.

ps i remember you used to like arm wrestling. i guess push ups is a new thing ;> I can just see you doing push ups! LOL! :)
